What) Mural artist Eric Grohe creates trompe l'oeil works that transform drab city buildings into beautiful three-dimensional environments. In 2004, Eric turned a hospital building into a 50 foot high x 58 foot wide mural called Dedication.  Designed to showcase the client’s cause statement “Honoring Every Soul With Loving Service,” this mural pays tribute to the dedicated educators, physicians, nurses, employees and volunteers who have served this health care provider for over a century.     Eric continues to refine the technologies, methods and equipment that ensure the permanence and cost effectiveness of his work. For large-scale exterior projects, he prefers to use Keim Mineral Paint from Germany. Murals painted in the 1800's with Keim have retained their original appearance to this day. The paint crystallizes into mineral substrates and will not fade, peel or blister. Grohe is one of just a few muralists in the country skilled in the use of this unique and superior paint. (2)

    Where) 127 South Davis Avenue

Why) On a previous trip, Pam and I really enjoyed the trompe l'oeil murals of John Pugh.  As these murals seemed to be done in a similar style, I thought I would put one on the list and see how we liked it.

Here is the entire mural. Remember that everything except for the two poles has been painted on a flat wall.
