What) Shopper's Corner is Santa Cruz's oldest and friendliest family-run market. Since 1938, Shopper's Corner has been a Santa Cruz landmark known for the very best in service, meat, wine, bread and produce.  It also happens to be the location of John Pugh's mural, Bay in a Bottle.

"I have found that the "language" of life-size illusions allow me to communicate with a very large audience.  It seems almost universal that people take delight in being visually tricked.  Once captivated by the illusion, the viewers are lured to cross an artistic threshold and thus seduced into exploring the concept of the piece."  John Pugh (1)

    Where) 622 Soquel Avenue       Daily from 6:00am - 9:00pm       831-423-1398

Why) I initially put 6 of John Pugh's murals on the Buckys list with the understanding that we could cut some out if Pam didn't appreciate them.  She liked the first one so we ended up visiting most of the rest.

This is the photo I took.

I got this one from John Pugh's website to show you the details that I missed. (2)

It's strange how this same guy was in both pictures.
