What) The mural "Siete Punto Uno" is located on Main Street in the town of Los Gatos. Los Gatos was one of the communities that suffered the most significant damage from the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. Considered the propitiator of earthquakes, the Mayan jaguar god (as represented in the mural) is grafted with the "cats" of Los Gatos to become one of the key metaphors of this concept.

Where) Read What again. (Admittedly we had to cruise up and down Main Street to find it.)

What) We roast our coffee in house so you can get fresh beans for sale at very good prices. Nice cappuccino and other espresso drinks, famous Chocolate Coffee Cream, quality goodies and small meals. We also have a mural by John Pugh entitled "Woman in Cafe".

Where) Great Bear Cafe  19 North Santa Cruz Avenue, (408) 395-8607

What) "Colonnade" - Columns and arches go back in time like the chambers of a nautilus shell. Like the ancient sea creature, we expand and set forth to new cultures or kingdoms, abandoning the previous ages as empty cavities of a shell.

    Where) Monterey Design (513 Monterey Ave) Size: 16' 8" H x 16' W Date of Completion: June 1986

What) From its establishment, there has been a single challenge for the Mandarin Gourmet Restaurant: offer the public gourmet Chinese cuisine in an elegant environment, pampered by an attentive staff.  Each member of the staff at the Mandarin Gourmet perceives as the number one goal, to provide the customer with the best possible service, food and atmosphere. We also have a mural by John Pugh entitled "Han Dynasty Flying Horse".

    Where) 10145 N. De Anza Blvd. Cupertino, California   Lunch 11:30 - 2:15    Dinner 5:00 - 9:15 pm    (408) 725-8168

Why) I initially put 6 of John Pugh's murals on the Buckys list with the understanding that we could cut some out if Pam didn't appreciate them.  She liked the first one so we ended up visiting most of the rest.

"Siete Punto Uno" is quite weathered and the parked vehicles made me take it from a bad angle.

It looks much better like this.
(1)

Today "Woman in Cafe" is in the back and they are storing coffee in front of it.

This is what it looked like initially (or with better lighting). (2)

We actually drove around a fair bit trying to find "Colonnade" but we failed. (3)

Traffic was slow in Los Gatos so I was taking pictures out the open window when this accident occurred.

We just missed lunch and were too early for dinner so this is all that you get to see. (4)
