What) Helen Shanbrom has been playing bridge since the 1930's. She earned 826 points at the club in 2009 and she has 23,000 total points. She has probably played more bridge than anyone in history. Helen seems to play here Th Aft and MWF Evening. But she supposedly plays 15 games per week. Open games are every afternoon at 12:30 PM as well as MWF at 7:00pm. (1)

What) Home of Quick Tricks Fort Lauderdale's Gay Friendly Duplicate Bridge Club. Quick Tricks welcomes ALL duplicate bridge players. Games are held on Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm and on Saturday afternoons at 12:30pm. Sessions are Novice to Intermediate (0-1500 Masterpoints) and are stratified and ACBL sanctioned.
Regular Open games are also held every afternoon at 12:30 PM as well as Sun and at 6:30pm as well as Tu,Th,Sat at 7:00 Helen Shanbrom also plays here but it is hard to tell when exactly. They get 12,094 tables a year which is 9th most in the ACBL. (2)

Why) Barry Harper was a bridge pro who played out of Regina. After returning from Florida, he mentioned that one of the things he made a point of doing was playing bridge against Helen Shanbrom. After doing a bit of research, I decided that Pam and I should do the same should the chance arise.
Wednesday) It is the evening pairs game in Pompano Beach and Helen Shanbrom is in the room but she is sitting the same direction as you are. You are playing with your regular partner "crazy" Jason but you are playing some weird system called Standard American that you are not entirely familiar with. What happened) Pam chose the very aggressive 3C call here. After a couple of rounds the auction came back to her at a higher level. What do you think she did now?
Wednesday Result) I guess Pam
thought there was nowhere positive to go so she
passed. We set the contract by 1 for +100 and a
matchpoints score of 6/7 (see board 24). As you can
see from the scores below, we could have used a few more
results like this.

Why) We were in the area so we played in the Thursday Evening game in Fort Lauderdale as well. Our score was better but we did not enjoy ourselves nearly as much because the club was not as friendly as the one in Pompano Beach. Perhaps that was why Helen Shanbrom was not playing in this game.
