What) This 30 foot tall Indian head statue was carved by Peter Wolf Toth in 1999 out of Cottonwood. It's on a low bluff overlooking the Iowa River.

Where) It is across the street from 325 Foster Boulevard adjacent to the Veterans Memorial.

Why) Once I start out on a series of Buckys I tend to be a bit methodical about finishing that series. The real why question you should ask is, “Am I going to be putting more Toth statues on future Buckys lists?”

As we were on our way to the statue, we drove across Jason avenue and Pam decided to stop and take this picture for me.

Once we got there I had to admit that I am starting to notice a sameness about Toth's statues and the pictures I take of them.

Both have a certain type of beauty that is repeated over and over but ...

... more and more I am relying on the natural beauty to fill in for that something I need to keep scheduling more Toth stops.

I would guess that Toth's statues will now fall into the category of spontaneous Bucky stops that I won't be able to pass up. (1)

Let me conclude with this plaque which is the nicest I have seen at any of our seven stops.
