What) McDonald's Corporation is the world's largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants, serving around 68 million customers daily in 119 countries. McDonald's operates over 31,000 restaurants worldwide, employing more than 1.5 million people. Headquartered in the United States, the company began in 1940 as a barbecue restaurant operated by Richard and Maurice McDonald; in 1948 they reorganized their business as a hamburger stand using production line principles. Businessman Ray Kroc joined the company as a franchise agent in 1955. He subsequently purchased the chain from the McDonald brothers and oversaw its worldwide growth.

McDonald's primarily sells hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chicken, french fries, breakfast items, soft drinks, milkshakes and desserts. In response to changing consumer tastes, the company has expanded its menu to include salads, wraps, smoothies and fruit.     Why) Occasionally, I am fond of getting two bacon cheeseburgers and a small order of fries from McDonalds as a quick (and it's only $4.30!) supper or a late night snack.  As we were driving down Highway 104, the billboards promising me something called a McLobster were enticing enough that I had to stop in and try one.

There were a number of different signs trying to entice me into the store but this one is my favourite.

This sign is actually the best but it was hanging right over the counter where you place your order.

As you can see, my McLobster does not look much like the one you just saw but the taste is about what you would expect from my picture.

It shouldn't surprise you to learn that my favourite part of the stop was ...

... the beautiful graphic designs that were being used in many of the food advertisements in and around the store.

This one for soft drinks is probably my favourite.
