What) Canyon Country Service was an Esso sevice station in Dorion that decided to cover it's walls with murals.  Michael O'Connor airbrush painted three large murals in 2000. The south wall (brook trout) was the first prize winner of Mural of the Year 2000 in a worldwide mural painting competition. (1)

    Where) #590 Highway 11/17.

    Why) It is a long drive back along the North shore of Lake Superior so I would have made these murals a Buckys even if they looked much worse then I knew that they would be.

































Here is the large trout mural that won the award.  I liked it so little in comparison to the other two sides that I forgot to take this picture. (2)













Don't misunderstand that statement though.  I found the contrast in this section interesting and ...







... there were a couple of individual pieces that were well executed but ...






... they did not come together to create an interesting whole.  This criticism does not apply to the other two sides. 























Doesn't the green grass seem out of place in this winter scene?







We both liked this side the best and Pam liked it enough to want to be in it.
