What) Originally called Toddsville, the settlement of Alix was incorporated on June 3, 1907, and was named after Alexia Westhead, the first white woman settler of the community. Apparently Alix (population 851) also has a smiling, 12-foot-tall, fiberglass gator located somewhere in the vicinity. (1)

    Where) Part of the fun in this Buckys is trying to find the statue without any help.

    Why) The rest of the fun, for me anyway, is seeing another statue.
