What) Although availability may vary by a few weeks depending on growing conditions, you can typically get oranges as follows: Navel Oranges: November - mid-January, Novas: November - December, Honeybell Tangelos: January, Temple Oranges: February - mid-March, Honey Tangerines: mid-January - March, Valencia Oranges: March - April, Grapefruit: November - April.     Where) Where was indeed the question.  Of course we were able to find fresh oranges to eat at numerous locations but we had driven around a large part of Florida before we found this grove of oranges when we on our way to see the Lipizzaner Stallions.  Perhaps we just needed to take more back roads.

Why) This was one of about 5 things that Pam said I should make sure we ended up doing on this trip.

We got out of the Jeep for a walk in the grove.

I don't know what kind of oranges these were but they looked ripe.  We never even thought about tasting them, of course.

These are Honey Tangerines.  We sampled some at a stand outside Jacksonville but they would only sell them in large quantities. (2)
