What) The Johnson Wax Building (1936-1939), also called the Administration Building, is constructed of more than 200 sizes and shapes of bricks. Light shines into the building through several layers of glass tubes that cannot be seen through. Frank Lloyd Wright also designed the original furniture for the Johnson Wax building. Some chairs had only three legs and would tip over if a forgetful secretary did not sit with correct posture. (1)

The chair design proved too unstable, tipping very easily. Herbert Johnson, needing a new chair design, purportedly asked Wright to sit in one of the three-legged chairs and, after Wright fell from the chair, the architect designed new chairs for Johnson Wax with four legs; these chairs, and the other office furniture designed by Wright, are still in use.     Where) 14th and Franklin Street

Why) This building was one piece of the proposed 6 part “Frank Lloyd Wright” Buckys tour.

Even the trees on the site had nice shapes.

This is the best I could do.  I wanted to get close enough to ...

... take a picture like this but there were security guards at the gate who were suggesting otherwise. (3)

That meant that once again I had to miss the interior of a Wright building. (4)
