What) Whole Foods Market is a foods supermarket chain based in Austin, Texas which emphasizes "natural and organic products." The company is consistently ranked among the most socially responsible businesses and placed third on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's list of the Top 25 Green Power Partners.

    Whole Foods Market only sells products that meet its self-created quality standards for being "natural", which the store defines as: minimally processed foods that are free of hydrogenated fats as well as artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, preservatives and many others as listed on their online "Unacceptable Food Ingredients" list. Whole Foods Market has also announced that it does not intend to sell meat or milk from cloned animals or their offspring even though the FDA has ruled them safe to eat. The company also sells many USDA-certified organic foods and products that aim to be environmentally friendly and ecologically responsible. (1)

    Why) We were hungry and the next Buckys wasn't open yet.  Plus it fit in with one of the themes on our trip.

Pam wanted the recipe for this slaw so I took a picture. It contained kale, avocado, onion, red bell pepper, lemon juice, salt, black pepper.







I didn't try the slaw but I chose this healthy looking yet tasty lunch from some of the bins you saw in the previous picture.
