What) For over sixty years, Mother Nature has transformed the rolling hills of North San Diego County into one of the most spectacular and coordinated displays of natural color and beauty anywhere in the world. The nearly fifty acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that make up The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch, are in a full bloom for approximately six to eight weeks each year - from early March through early May - literally bringing the famous fields back to life. This annual burst of color, which has become part of the area's local heritage, is also one of nature's official ways of announcing the arrival of spring here in Southern California.

Visit Our Walk of Fame - The only display of each of the more than 170 All-American Rose selection winners since 1940.

Where) Head north on I5 to Palomar Airport Road exit. Turn right on Palomar Airport Road. Go one block to Paseo Del Norte and turn left. Open daily from 9am - 6pm    Adults - $10.00

Why) As Pam is an avid gardener, I thought she would enjoy seeing the millions of flowers as well as the rose display.

This is the best picture that I was able to take.

Fortunately, they gave me this brochure at the entrance and it ...

... contained this aerial photo to give you a better idea of the extent of the flowers.

I took this picture in the nursery that is attached to the Flower Fields.

From the nursery.  This was going to be the first picture in the "Hot Sauce" series but I didn't stumble upon any more to go with it.
